Dream of becoming a qualified makeup artist? 

In this course, you will cover the fundamental components of makeup artistry. This course has been specifically designed for aspiring makeup artists.

 

You will learn all the fundamental skills, techniques and knowledge that will prove an invaluable starting point as a professional makeup artist. 

 

You will cover analysing skin types and face shapes, tools and products, cleansing and preparing the skin, right through to designing a makeup plan and learning to professionally apply makeup. You will consult with clients and demonstrate and apply make-up products to suit client needs. 

You will also learn to select products and tools to apply photographic make-up. In this environment you will gain hands on experience by working as part of a creative team, making informed creative decisions and gain knowledge and skills across a range of specialised make-up products and application techniques. For anyone wanting to work in, bridal or editorial, you will gain understanding of what is involved in creating flawless makeup for photography. 

Creative makeup looks aren't only for Halloween parties. You can design looks for other special occasions or any time you want to create not just a look, but a fantasy. In creative makeup you will respond to a client brief to design and apply make-up for specialised looks including;

  • fashion or catwalk

  • period or decade

  • fantasy

  • entertainment

This makeup course will include opportunities to create your professional portfolio shooting with a professional photographer throughout the course.

COURSE INFORMATION

MATERIALS & RESOURCES


ACA offers students the opportunity to experience a wide range of different studio practices, each of which will require specific materials and equipment. It is the student’s responsibility to determine what materials and equipment are required for each topic. Participants studying in person are to attend each class with a laptop and their makeup kit. Specialised Studio Workshops require additional materials and supplies and these costs are determined by the student’s choice of items. The trainer will have class Kits together to ensure that student have the essential supplies to assist them in the execution of high quality work and consistency across specialisations. A Makeup Kit is included in the Tuition Fees and will be handed out on the first day of class.




COURSE STRUCTURE


Participants undertake four Nationally Accredited Units of Competency.. The Makeup Artistry Certificate can be completed externally online or by remote learning, or in person at any of our studios. To qualify for successful completion of this course, the participant must pass each Unit of Competency. Participants have a maximum timeframe of 12 months to complete this course. Expected completion for an engaged participant is 12 weeks.




NATIONALLY RECOGNISED TRAINING


This course is delivered in partnership with Registered Training Organisation RTO 32466. Upon successful completion of this short course, you will be awarded with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment issued by Change Safety & Training Pty Ltd (RTO 32466) for the units: SHBBMUP002 Design and Apply Makeup SHBBMUP003 Design and Apply Makeup for Photography SHBBMUP006 Design and Apply Creative Makeup SHBXWHS001 Apply safe hygiene, health and work practices




APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS


ACA accepts direct applications only, meaning you can only apply to study at ACA through our website. It is an easy 3-Step Enrolment Process. An ACA representative will get in contact with you to discuss your application and to schedule an interview. After you have completed your interview and supplied all of the required documentation, you will receive a results email within 24hrs.
