Establish the skills and experience you need to get your foot in the door in the beauty and cosmetic industry. This course will give students a feel for what it will be like to work in makeup and cosmetics.

You will learn all the fundamental skills, techniques and knowledge that will prove an invaluable starting point in a cosmetics career.

Offering practical training that will provide you with a hands-on experience, our experienced educators will teach you how to design and apply make-up, offer advice on beauty products and services, and sell to the retail customer. You will also learn to communicate as part of a salon team and conduct salon financial transactions.

You will cover analysing skin types and face shapes, tools and products, cleansing and preparing the skin, right through to designing a makeup plan and learning to professionally apply makeup. You will consult with clients and demonstrate and apply make-up products to suit client needs. You will also learn to communicate as part of a salon team, offer advice on beauty products, sell to the retail customer and conduct salon financial transactions.

Applying eyelash extensions are hugely popular in the beauty industry, you will learn how to consult with clients, select suitable products and equipment to apply, in-fill, and remove damaged eyelash extensions.

You will also learn to select products and tools to apply photographic make-up. In this environment you will gain hands on experience by working as part of a creative team, making informed creative decisions and gain knowledge and skills across a range of specialised make-up products and application techniques. For anyone wanting to work in, bridal or editorial, you will gain understanding of what is involved in creating flawless makeup for photography.

Creative makeup looks aren't only for Halloween parties. You can design looks for other special occasions or any time you want to create not just a look, but a fantasy. In creative makeup you will respond to a client brief to design and apply make-up for specialised looks.

This course will include everything you need to, as well as a full professional makeup kit, eyelash kit and practice head, you will also get a head start building your portfolio shooting with a professional portrait photographer throughout the course.
