Establish the skills and experience you need to get your foot in the door in the beauty and cosmetic industry. This course will give students a feel for what it will be like to work in makeup and cosmetics.

You will learn all the fundamental skills, techniques and knowledge that will prove an invaluable starting point in a cosmetics career.

Offering practical training that will provide you with a hands-on experience, our experienced educators will teach you how to design and apply make-up, offer advice on beauty products and services, and sell to the retail customer. You will also learn to communicate as part of a salon team and conduct salon financial transactions.

Professional Makeup Artist



ACA offers students the opportunity to experience a wide range of different studio practices, each of which will require specific materials and equipment. It is the student’s responsibility to determine what materials and equipment are required for each topic. Participants studying in person are to attend each class with a laptop and makeup kit. Specialised Studio Workshops require additional materials and supplies and these costs are determined by the student’s choice of items. The trainer will have class Kits together to ensure that student have the essential supplies to assist them in the execution of high quality work and consistency across specialisations. A Makeup & Eyelash Kit is included in the Tuition Fees and will be handed out on the first day of class.


Participants undertake four Nationally Accredited Units of Competency. The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics can be completed externally online or by remote learning, or in person at any of our studios. To qualify for successful completion of this course, the participant must pass each Unit of Competency. Participants have a maximum timeframe of 12 months to complete this course. Expected completion for an engaged participant is 12 weeks - 6 months.


This course is delivered in partnership with Registered Training Organisation RTO 41209. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded with a Nationally Recognised Certificate in Retail Cosmetics SHB20116 issued by Elysian Institute of Beauty and Complimentary Studies RTO 41209
